Made this using imitation lambskin. I used a patten for a Chinese Qi-pao and then lengthened it considerably. I also section the front bodice panels and added darts for fit. The buckles were handmade by glueing two layers of the lambskin together, to obtain the correct thickness for the straps, then sewing the buckles into the straps. The assembled straps and buckles were attached to the dress using rivets. The boots covers were hand made to fit over a pair of old go-go boots. The hardest part of this was all the buckles……it took forever to cut out the straps, hole punch then sew the buckles in. Followed by four hole punches and rivets to attach each buckle to the dress. I’m still experimenting with different methods for the tattoos on the dress. At this time I’m using a foam cut out that’s tack sewed in place.
